It's Friday, Jr.!🙋🏼‍♀️ I'm Nicole Fallert. Dreading politics at the Thanksgiving table?

Take a look at Thursday's news:

AI bellwether Nvidia reassured a market rattled by fears of an AI bubble.
Former VP Dick Cheney will be laid to rest today.
Black Friday is already happening.

Nvidia stock rises as it beats Wall Street forecast

All eyes were on Nvidia's third-quarter earnings results on Wednesday — a barometer for the AI-frenzy that pushed markets to record highs this year, yet causing concerns on Wall Street as a possible bubble.

Big AI dollars: Nvidia, which accounts for 8% of the S&P 500 index, surpassed analyst expectations, earning $1.30 per share on $57 billion in sales.

Why Nvidia is such a market force: Nvidia makes the chips that are crucial to training and running AI models, and the red-hot market for AI has turned Nvidia into the world's most valuable company.
Are tech stocks too high? What's unsettling market nerves is that no one knows how long a record rally in technology stocks will last, and AI's spending spree – and growing piles of debt to finance it – has shaken the market's faith.

America lays Dick Cheney to rest

The funeral service for former Vice President Dick Cheney is set to take place in the nation's capital on Thursday. Cheney served as vice president under George W. Bush from 2001 to 2009 and is considered one of the most powerful and controversial people to hold the role, largely due to his push to invade Iraq in 2003 and his views on presidential power. Watch the service live with USA TODAY.

Full grand jury never reviewed Comey indictment

The lawyer President Donald Trump and his attorney general tapped to head an investigation into former FBI Director James Comey admitted she neglected to present the final version of the indictment he now faces to a full grand jury. The admission from Lindsey Halligan, a former personal lawyer to Trump, who had never been a prosecutor before her appointment in late September, threw an added wrench into the case. Here's what U.S. District Judge Michael Nachmanoff said in response.

Feds are swarming North Carolina

Federal agents are surging across swing state North Carolina. In Charlotte, federal agents smashed the window of a U.S. citizen's truck before pulling him to the ground. Tens of thousands of public school students have been reported absent. And businesses in immigrant communities shuttered as border agents patrolled the streets. North Carolina doesn't often generate national attention for immigration related issues, leading residents and local officials to question why the state is being targeted.
