America lays Dick Cheney to rest |
The funeral service for former Vice President Dick Cheney is set to take place in the nation's capital on Thursday. Cheney served as vice president under George W. Bush from 2001 to 2009 and is considered one of the most powerful and controversial people to hold the role, largely due to his push to invade Iraq in 2003 and his views on presidential power. The admission from Lindsey Halligan, a former personal lawyer to Trump, who had never been a prosecutor before her appointment in late September, threw an added wrench into the case. Here's what U.S. District Judge Michael Nachmanoff said in response. |
Feds are swarming North Carolina |

Tens of thousands of public school students have been reported absent. And businesses in immigrant communities shuttered as border agents patrolled the streets. North Carolina doesn't often generate national attention for immigration related issues, leading residents and local officials to question why the state is being targeted. |
