@RebeccaMorin_

Hi all! I'm Rebecca Morin, senior national news reporter at USA TODAY. How is it Thursday already?

5 days until the first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. 61 days until Election Day. 34 days until the new season of Abbott Elementary!

Historian who accurately predicted 9 of last 10 presidential elections makes 2024 pick

Wondering who will win the 2024 presidential election? Well, Allan Lichtman, the historian who correctly predicted the outcome of nine out of the ten most recent presidential elections, has made his pick. I'll give you a hint: Vice President Kamala Harris. Read more.

Lichtman bases his guess on thirteen keys, such as House gains in midterms and charisma
Lichtman's only wrong prediction has been the 2000 election, in which Republican George W. Bush defeated Democrat Al Gore.
Earlier this year, Lichtman told Democrats to not rebel against Biden.

Got mail?

The days are ticking down to Election Day. And I have one friend in the key battleground state of Michigan who is seeing a lot of election mailers hit her mailbox. Are you seeing the same thing? Send me photos or drop a message on any election mailers you are getting.

Taylor Swift hasn't endorsed Trump or Harris. Why do we care?

Taylor Swift is rarely political — except for a handful of times in her 20-year career. So why do we want her to endorse Trump or Harris?
