Rebecca Morin Senior National News Reporter

@RebeccaMorin_

Greetings! I'm Rebecca Morin, senior national news reporter at USA TODAY, and I'm trying to scrounge up the energy to go to work out this evening.

6 days until the first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. 62 days until Election Day. 57 days until Halloween – bring on the spooky movies.

Low-income voters flock to Harris over Trump

Remember when I said every vote will matter in this election? Well, here's another example of just that. Low-income voters, those making less than $20,000, now support Vice President Kamala Harris over former President Donald Trump, 58% to 35%, according to a new USA TODAY/Suffolk University poll. Read more.

Harris' support among low-income voters is a reversal from June when Trump was ahead of President Joe Biden with that group.
In June, 39% of low-income voters backed Trump, while 36% backed Biden
Watch: Latest polls show Harris leading Trump. Here's what we know about the shift.

Another group that Harris is seeing support from: young voters. Half of registered voters ages 18-29 would vote for Harris, while 34% would vote for Trump.

The saga of Trump's hush money case isn't over yet: Sentencing date nears

Although former President Donald Trump was hoping to delay his New York sentencing on 34 felony counts until after the Nov. 5 election, a federal judge on Tuesday declined to block the case from moving forward. So what does that mean? Trump's sentencing in the hush money case is set for Sept. 18. Read more.

You asked, On Politics answers: Clarifying question on Trump's support among women

Please keep the questions rolling in! On Politics reader Adele Griffin of Carlsbad, California, had a question about my answer in Tuesday's edition on Donald Trump's support among women. Griffin said she was confused why the breakdown of Trump's support between men and women did not equal 100%.

Just a reminder, I wrote yesterday that among those who support Trump in the latest USA TODAY/Suffolk poll, 51% are men and 36% are women. Among those supporting Harris, 57% women and 38% men. Neither of the two breakdowns add up to 100%. That is because sometimes, respondents refuse to answer poll questions . But it does not mean the data is wrong. An ABC News/Ipsos poll published Sunday also found Harris is leading Trump among women, 54% to 41%.
