@KathrynPlmr

Hello readers, and welcome to another edition of On Politics. I'm Kathryn Palmer . We've got some election results for you this Wednesday. Let's dive in.

Who landed wins in Mississippi, Georgia?

Voters headed to the polls in Mississippi and Georgia yesterday, in a midterm primary in the Magnolia state and a special election in the Peach state. The Georgia race has drawn high interest, especially among MAGA and MAGA-watchers, as voters in the state were choosing who they wanted for former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's vacant House seat. That race proved less conclusive than Mississippi's primaries, with Georgia voters heading back to the polls for a spring runoff after neither Democratic nor Republican candidates passed the required 50% threshold. In Mississippi's GOP Senate primary, incumbent U.S. Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith sailed through and is set to face Democratic district attorney Scott Colom in November. Here's what to know about the four Mississippi House races, and who pulled out wins.

Report finds US struck Iran school in error

The deadly Feb. 28 Tomahawk missile strike that killed 175 people at an Iranian girls' school was the result of a U.S. targeting error caused by the use of outdated data from the Defense Intelligence Agency, The New York Times reported today, citing people briefed on the ongoing U.S. military investigation. The report comes days after Trump suggested Iran bombed the school, although the president has also said he would accept the findings of the U.S. military investigation. The United States is the only country actively involved in the war with access to Tomahawk cruise missiles. Elsewhere, an Iranian diplomat told The Guardian that Mojtaba Khamenei, the country's new supreme leader, was wounded in the Feb. 28 airstrikes that killed his father, the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and several other family members. Follow along with USA TODAY's live updates for the latest developments in the war.

Jill Biden's memoir to offer 'View from the East Wing'

Former first lady Jill Biden is ready to open up about her time in the White House in a new memoir. She announced details of the forthcoming book today , describing it as a chronicle of not only her time serving in the East Wing, but also of some of the most consequential moments of her husband's time in office. Jill Biden indicated the book would touch on Joe Biden's abrupt departure from the 2024 presidential race, after which Vice President Kamala Harris stepped in to run on the Democratic ticket. Jill Biden told potential readers the memoir would reveal "what that moment meant for our family and for me personally." It is slated for a June 2 release.
